In 1977, 16 young men and 2 Honorary Brothers crossed the Burning Sands and reached the Promised Land to earn the right to wear the Feathered M. Our pledge line pledged for 7 months, whereas most lines traditionally pledge for 6 months. We were led under the leadership of Rodney Beckford, Senior Dean, Kenneth Bolt, Managing Dean and Assistant Deans, Courtney Bennett and Daryl Simons. Throughout our pledging experience, the officers who led us were Desmond Murray aka Bakari Adeyemi, President, Jason Murray, Vice President, Ronald Brown, Treasurer, Mark Ballard, Secretary and Benny Grayson, Chaplain.
After 40 years of membership in the Order of Feather Fraternity, our line decided to celebrate our milestone year, assembling our brothers from various states to come together for our 40th Anniversary of Brotherhood. Two of our Deans celebrated with us, Bro. Rodney Beckford and Bro. Courtney Bennett, at Waterside Restaurant in North Bergen, NJ

Throughout the evening , brothers shared how the Feather and the Minisink Camp experience gave us an understanding of Brotherhood, representing ourselves and our respective families in a positive way and lastly how to develop leadership skills to effectively lead successful lives. Presentations for Decades of Service to the organization were presented to Bro. Rodney Beckford and Bro. Courtney Bennett, by Bro. Jason Murray and Bro. Mark Johnson, respectively.
Our Deans were very appreciative of the recognition and acknowledgment of the many years of service and how
their leadership as our Deans assisted us in our formative years as adolescents.
Our wives and significant others were in attendance with us in addition to Bro. Imani Murray 97′ , who was celebrating his line’s 20th Anniversary.
Our Brothers have vowed to continue staying in touch, continue serving has positive role models in our communities and most importantly leading our respective families in a dignified way enabling our next generation to see what their parents are made of.
